The environment for our project

·          The rectangle field of size 0.5m x 0.3m. Depend on the range of the sonar sensor, we may increase the size of the field for more challenge.
·         The border of the field will be marked with white tape.
·         The field will be a usually floor color. But if the sensor cannot pick up the contrast due to the bright floor color,  we will cover the floor with black scrap paper to use as the field.
·         The goal will have a black panel in the same height as a robot. The color of the goal is not yet determined.
·         The ball we use is red and will be thrown at random positon.
·         The light environment is white fluorescent used for office.

Our robot

Our robot is equipped with an intelligent brick for on-board computing, three servo motors, a light sensor, and two ultrasonic sensors. It is smaller than a breadbox.

Our task

Our task is to build a soccerbot. The robot will locate a ball in a field, move to the ball, capture the ball (with a set of claws or a cage), find the goal, and move to the goal. We would like to make the robot also kick the ball towards the goal, but we aren't sure it will be possible with the number of servo motors we have.
